Nasdaq to Acquire Marketwired

Nasdaq to Acquire Marketwired

Marketwired is pleased to announce our agreement to be acquired by Nasdaq. In this personal message, Marketwired President and CEO Adnan Ahmed shares the announcement with our customers.

We are pleased to announce that Marketwired has agreed to be acquired by Nasdaq, a leading provider of trading, clearing, exchange technology, listing, information and public company services across six continents.

You can read the complete news release here.

Nasdaq’s Corporate Solutions business supports over 10,000 clients in 60 countries with Investor Relations (IR), Public Relations (PR), Communications and Governance services and solutions.  The combination of Marketwired with Nasdaq Corporate Solutions will significantly expand our end-to-end portfolio of communications services, including media research, influencer targeting, news distribution, social media intelligence and analytics.

We anticipate many benefits to you as a result of this acquisition, including:

  • Expanding our global distribution network to significantly increase reach for your news and content;
  • Providing new tools and intelligence for investor relations, public relations and marketing communications needs; and
  • Accelerating our strategy to deliver the most integrated, intelligent and easiest-to-use platform for communications professionals.

Subject to customary closing conditions, the deal is expected to close in the first half of 2016.  Until then, it will be business as usual for both Marketwired and Nasdaq.  There will be no changes to your existing Marketwired services, and no change to the professional, hands-on service and support you receive from our Sales, Editorial and Client Care teams.

We will keep you updated on the progress of this exciting acquisition, and remain committed to providing you with world-class service and intelligent solutions for your business.  If you have any questions, your Marketwired representative is here to help.

This is an exciting day for our team and our customers, and we look forward to the road ahead.
