Marketwired attends another great conference at FIPP World Congress 2015
Last week, the media relations team at Marketwired attended the 40th annual FIPP World Congress 2015 in Toronto, Ontario. We spent several days at the largest and most prestigious global magazine media event in the world where we had the opportunity to meet with and listen to the industry’s top speakers.
This year’s sessions covered the latest innovations and developments in magazine media publishing. We listened to Koda Wang, Chief Operating Officer, Huffington Post, USA who explained the rapid growth of Huffington Post, constructing in the process a new model for digital media to expand globally. We also learned how Buzzfeed is building its global media operation. Anne Kofol Hogarty, VP of International Business at Buzzfeed, USA (shown in the photo above), explained the value of hiring a small but talented local team who can help expand a brand’s audience by finding local content and news and delivering it in a way that will be relatable to the community.
As one of the World Congress sponsors, the team at Marketwired had the chance to meet face-to-face with some of the conference attendees in the World Congress Beaver Lodge. We spoke with many wonderful editors, publishers and journalists. We learned about their work and discovered ways in which Marketwired could help them generate new ideas for content, drive website traffic and increase advertising revenue. We really enjoyed the opportunity to meet and connect with all of these individuals.
