Sony, Wal-Mart: Brands That Rock the Digital House



On this blog, we spent a lot of time offering content to help digital marketers get an upper hand leveraging social media

The best way to do this is to highlight brands that are rocking it, and creating leading examples of best practices.

Here are two brands that  you can learn from and be inspired by:

Sony Electronics

Sony is a brand that has worked hard to build a solid online brand. They use social media in ways  their competitors don’t. Best of all, they look beyond just Facebook and Twitter and try to spread their wings into several social networks.

By using platforms such as Pinterest, Sony is expanding its reach and building its audience. They also  never limit themselves to just standard products shots. They tell stories and they have fun.

What you can learn here is that it is always best to show what your products do, not just still shots of them.

Wal-Mart

I’m sure you could guess  a brand that size of Walmart would be fairly adept at social media and the online marketing game. Well, they definitely are.

They may not be the most bold digital brand, and that’s perfectly okay. They have a steady presence across the popular platforms, and their audience is in constant growth mode. They know their audience and what is expected of them, and they deliver.
