Meet, greet, tweet and eat – it’s conference time again!

Marketwire folks are headed across North America by plane, train and automobile to connect with clients, forge new relationships and take in some great professional development at a bevy of conferences in May and June.  From Regina to San Diego, we are anticipating a great conference “season” in 2010, and are looking forward to mixing and mingling – in person and online – with the best and brightest in IR, PR, MarCom and media.  Here’s where we’ll be; hope to see you there!

Online Marketing Virtual Summit, May 27 (virtual event):  Join our own Garry Przyklenk, online marketing and lead generation manager, as he leads the expert presentation “Introduction to Testing: Going beyond ego and intuition to become a data-driven online marketer.”  This virtual event is free, so register today and you’ll learn everything you need to know about building great landing pages, boosting conversion rates and why it’s so important to test, test and test again.

Canadian Association of Journalists Annual Conference, May 28-30, Montreal: Hear and learn from some of Canada’s foremost media professionals and meet members of Marketwire’s Media Relations team.

IABC 2010 World Conference, June 6-9, Toronto: Always a memorable event, IABC brings together communications professionals from around the world and presents a robust agenda featuring speakers and sessions that teach and share best practices in communication.  Be sure to stop by the Marketwire booth – we’d love to chat about our Social Media 2.0 press release and get you social media fit with our SM 10X30 program.  We’re sponsoring the Internet Café, too, so you don’t have to leave the exhibit hall to check in online!  Be sure to read the full IABC 2010 World Conference agenda.

National Investor Relations Institute (NIRI) Annual Conference, June 6-9, San DiegoNIRI’s annual event is a premier global IR education and networking summit that helps those in the IR community stay relevant with interactive sessions, industry breakouts and insight from today’s thought leaders.  You’ll see us everywhere; the exhibit hall (booth 404), opening night’s “California Dreaming” welcome party.  We enjoy connecting with colleagues and clients to discuss what’s new in investor relations, the regulatory environment and how IROs are adopting social media.

Canadian Investor Relations Institute (CIRI) Annual Conference, June 13-15, Ottawa: CIRI’s 21st annual conference, “Investor Relations in a Socially Responsible and Green Global Environment,” brings together financial communicators and IROs from across the country to discuss issues, opportunities and trends in investor relations.  Be sure to join us Sunday, June 13, for a one-hour session on corporate responsibility and accountability, led by Lynda Kuhn, Senior Vice President Communications at Maple Leaf Foods.

Canadian Public Relations Society (CPRS) Annual Conference, June 13-15, Regina: Join Canada’s top PR practitioners in Regina in June 2010 for a conference that captures the “State of the Art” of communications today.  With a great agenda and a keynote from CBC’s Peter Mansbridge, “Canada and Canadians in a Changing World,” this conference is certain to enlighten and entertain.  Be sure to sit in on the session “Ethics in Public Relations: What’s in It for Me?” and get ready for “An Evening to Remember at the RCMP Heritage Centre” – Marketwire’s traditional conference supper.   Don’t worry about eating too much. We’ll also give you fitness training for free – social media fitness training, that is.  Stop by the exhibit hall to learn more about SM 10X30.

Editor & Publisher, June 16-17, Las Vegas: E&P’s 21st Annual Interactive Media Conference and Tradeshow has a great agenda, and with sessions like “It’s All About the Apps” and “Can Digital Tablets Save Media,” there will be a lot of interesting, insightful content to take in.  Stop by Booth 106 and say hello to the Marketwire team.

RTNDA Canada National Conference, June 17-19, Edmonton: “The news business continues to change; with the advent of blogging, social media, texting and camera-cell phones, virtually everyone can be involved in gathering and disseminating news. How can we, as an industry, respond?” RTNDA’s Rebuilding for the Future conference looks to answer that question.  Read more on the agenda.

National Association of Hispanic Journalists (NAHJ) Annual Convention, June 23-26, Denver: Marketwire is proud to participate in NAHJ’s 28th Annual Multimedia Convention & Career Expo taking place in the Mile High City – Denver. During this three-day event, the line-up is chock-full of interesting workshops that will help you manage “Your Skills,” “Your Life,” “Your Career” and “Your Community.” While you’re there, come by our booth to say hello!

Bulldog Reporter’s Media Relations Summit, June 28, New York and Online: Features more than 50 speakers, including keynoter Tina Brown of the Daily Beast. Bulldog’s Media Relations Summit lets you discover and discuss the future of media, PR, media relations technologies and social network.  Our own Paolina Milana, EVP Marketing/Media Relations/Editorial Operations will moderate the session “The Future of Public Relations: Seizing the Opportunity.”  Here’s a great tip:  Friends of Marketwire can register to attend at half price!

As summer ends and fall begins, Marketwire will round out the 2010 conference season by participating in even more events, including the Asian American Journalist Association’s 2010 National Conference: Back to the Future (Los Angeles, August 5-6), the Public Relations Society of America’s: Powering Progress (DC, October 16-19) and the Online News Association’s ONA10 (DC, October 28-30).
